Sky+ to Sky+hd

    Hi

    I currently have a sky+ standard box.A friend of mine has a sky+HD box that he dosn't want.Would anyone know if i could change to the hd box that my friend has without any probs.

    I done the same just before xmas....Not a problem with sky doing it either.

    Only get about 3 or 4 HD channels though,,unless your willing to pay an extra €15 a month for the HD pack.
    .

    Once you disconnect your old box can you watch recorded programmes off that box on another tv?Can you do this without a card in the box?

    No, you need a Sky card with an active subscription to view the recorded programmes.

    That means the box needs to be connected to a phoneline, doesn't it? Otherwise how would the Sky box know the card is an active one?

    No, it doesn't need to be connected to the phone line. The card is activated or deactivated via satellite (except for the first activation).

    I never have the box connected to the phone-line in anyway,never had probs with recording or viewing.
