    Hi

I'm trying to extend a wireless network to upstairs in my house using the to tp link wa830re
I'm reading the instructions and it says just click the range extender and it will blink after 5 seconds and it will be connected.
However upstairs I can see four of my neighbours secured networks so how does it know which one to connect to?

The instructions are dreadful that come with it...

    Thanks

It won't just connect to your network, you need to plug your laptop into it and configure it to connect to your existing wireless with the encryption key (password)

Ah ok it doesn't seem to say this in its wizard set up but thought as much.
Is there any way of setting up on an ipad? I only have iPhone ipad Apple TV!

I'm not familiar with this model but you should be able to configure it through the web portal (which can be done on ipad connected to existing network) assuming its connected via ethernet. Then setup with same name and password as other network so you don't have to have another network for upstairs.
