Does anyone have a number for the breakers just outside of Moate? I was told there are breakers there who have a field full of cars there for breaking and dismantling.

Are you thinking of Brackens of Ballycumber? It's about six or seven miles from Moate in County Offaly. There used to be a place between Moate and Horseleap but that's gone for at least fifteen years.

EDIT: I see you're in Tullamore so you probably know about Brackens.

I looked up Pat Byrne's number on the net but don't think I'll be going near him http://www.advertiser.ie/athlone/article/2456

:D That was a good find, well done!

What are you looking for? There was a good place in Tullamore but I can't remember the name, it was on the old Daingean road near the new roundabout on the bye-pass. There is also Mullingar Dismantlers who are about 25 miles from Tullamore.

I think that's the same Pat Byrne who passed away during the week, may he rest in peace.

I remember going to his yard it was amazing. All sorts every where, you would not know what to expect to find next. He may have been dodge or not but i will say I found him very sound that day I came across him and he was happy to take a bit of negotiation for already cheap parts. My meeting of him was a good one may he rest in peace.

I'm not saying that this is the yard now but it reminds me a lot of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KWeDeGgAf4
