Beautybay.com - any experience?

So I've been eyeing up the Urban Decay 'Smoked' palette and trying to find where I might be able to buy one in the Cork area. There are none at the UD counter in Debenhams, Patrick Street and none showing up on Amazon, so I was preparing myself for disappointment. However, a quick Google search showed up a site called Beautybay.com: a slick, nice-looking site with a wide range of hair and makeup products for excellent prices, along with free international shipping.

Now, I know the saying - if it's too good to be true, it probably is. I looked around for reviews and it seemed like a really mixed bag. Half of them praised the site for surprisingly speedy free delivery of precisely what was ordered, even internationally. The other half complained about long waits, poor customer service, missing products and sometimes, orders not showing up at all.

So! Has anyone used the site before? Is it worth ordering from them, or is it more trouble than it's worth?

I've ordered from them a few times with no trouble, they were pretty efficient. Although I think once they took a while to deliver due to the item not being in stock.

Overall i'd recommend them!

grand site good prices but very slow delivery to ireland. It will arrive but in my experience could take 1-2 weeks to arrive so it is not ideal if you need something immediately

waahh.. ive been trying to buy Urban Decay Mariposa Palette off Amazon for around 20 quid (including delivery) with an amazon voucher I got as a gift.. They don't even deliver to Ireland or even to Parcel Motel because its not UK mainland.. I was so annoyed.

Thanks for this website though, I couldn't find this product anywhere else for delivery to Ireland.. might just get it for the sake of a tenner more... its so pretty!! :P

Was just going to post my own thread about beautybay.com til I saw this one!

I've ordered from them many times over the years with no problems, except the very slow delivery - expect to wait at least two weeks for package to arrive.

My previous order got lost in the mail and I was a whole month waiting for them to sort my refund, not great corrospondence either. My most recent order is 30 days in transit and still not got to me. I have a horrible feeling it has once again been "lost in the mail". I'm so darn frustrated. I can't afford their tracked delivery, it's like €12, which is a bit much on top of the price of the products.

I would not have bought from them again but for they are the only ones that ship Mario Badescu to Ireland.

I ordered a Nails Inc set from them last year, it never showed up. They wouldn't let me file for refund/replacement until 5 weeks after the despatch date (from UK - is a man on a bike bringing it to the Dublin mail centre?!)

I did get a speedy refund though.

I ordered a couple of Urban Decay items off them 2 full weeks ago. Still haven't arrived but appears as though they were shipped the day after ordering. Where are these coming from? The moon?

It's a bit of a lengthy process and all so I could save a couple or euros and save me the effort of going into Debenhams! Ordered off feelunique a couple of times and found them very quick. Will go back to them in future

I ordered nail polish from them, and like yourself they were dispatched the next day. They never arrived! Ended up getting a refund.

I used them recently and found them very good. Got my order within a week. Paid 1.50 extra and got faster shipping plus 3 product samples. Feelunique took longer plus had to pay €22.80 in customs charges and go to the post office to pay before they would give me the parcel.

I ordered nail polish from them in April and it still hasn't arrived , I put in for a lost order about two weeks ago and they said they'd give me a replacement. I still haven't gotten a dispatch email for the replacement so I'm not too optimistic about it's arrival either , I'll probably just get a refund. So In short I wouldn't bother with them !!!!

Bear in mind a lot of nail polish parcels being sent from the UK are being stopped going out - it's illegal now to send it unless you have a licence and even then there is limitations on the ml allowance.. advise using Parcel Motel for UK nail polish purchasing
