30kph error flashing on dash

    i have a 2010 seat altea xl, there is a 30kph warning flashing on the dash every time i pass 30kph, i missed placed the car manual so was wondering is there any one else with same car that can tell me wat the error is for? thanks

    I'm guessing it's a speed limit warning that the driver can set.

    there's no cruise control in the car so i don't think this could be the problem

    It's nothing to do with cruise control, it's a warning mechanism some cars have where you're alerted when you pass a set speed. Some of them beep, others flash a little light to let you know.

    It should be possible to switch it off, but you'll need the manual.

    Through the On Board Computer on a lot of VW Group cars, you can set a warning to go off when you reach a certain speed. Some sick puppy obviously decided it was fun to set yours at 30.

    If you have a multi function steering wheel you can usually access the relevant menu through the buttons on that, otherwise it's a combination of the toggle on the right hand stalk and the button underneath that stalk.
