So have to replace a few wall tiles that had to be taken down about 5 in total in a kitchen(wall) instead of using adisive any reason why I couldn't use tec7 or similar to fix them, just hassle buying full bag of adisive and only using a small amount.

I had the same problem recently and found a small tub of pre-made tile adhesive (weighed about 1kg or so) in Woodies for about €6. Also it was water resistant etc. Might be a better option. (Seems like I am following you from forum-to-forum )

B&Q do a small tube of ready mixed adhesive and tile grout -all in one - used it for a repair job similar to what you are describing and done the job..

Dont use adhesive and grout combined. Its just pure tripe. It is very difficult to use and if you have been successful you have been lucky. By seperate adhesive and grout. Tec 7 will work fine as an adhesive as said above adhesive is quite cheap though but what ever you use you need to give it a day to dry out before grouting.

B&Q, about €5 for a tube of adh+grout, dries as white, good for 8-10 tiles
