Is there a centre in the west of Ireland where one can have customized earplugs made up?
    Thanks in advance.

What do you need them for?

I ask because my GP recommended them as I was suffering swimmers ear over and over. Before I looked into customised ones I tried out a few different kinds and I found one brand that totally blocks water getting in so Ive been using them for over a year and not a jot of swimmers ear since.

Obviously if you have a totally different issue then ignore the above but if you want me to dig out the brand name let me know.

Thanks for your reply. It is for someone who suffers with otitis externa and they were told that they should not allow water in their ears.
Anyway I discovered that they make up customized earplugs at Hidden Hearing so have an appointment locally.

The customised ones can be very expensive and they dont always work. Otitis externa is the same as swimmers ear. Its the same reason I started using them. I checked the brand on the ones I use and they are Howard Leight Fusion Earplugs. I got mine on ebay - here is a listing for them so you can have an idea of price:

Theyre brilliant, no water at all gets in, I used to use them for showers, swimming, rainy days even (when I had a bad case of it) and since I started using them I havent looked back. Ive been on the same pair for a year now and I swim for an hour twice a week. They are worth a cheap try compared to the customised ones imo.

Thank you so much for your advice. Have just ordered them from the link you posted. Will let you know how it goes. Will defer Hidden Hearing appointment until I try them out. Thanks again.

No prob - better to save the few bob in these times eh?

I tried them out in the bath first, and I was a bit unsure that they wouldnt last the hour in the pool - but they are great!

Best of luck, hope they work for you, no doubt they will.

Yes, less than £10 as opposed to €130 euro. Happy days.

Got the earplugs you recommended and they are brilliant. Saved myself a few bob. Very many thanks.

Fair play, delighted to have been able to help out.

My hubby has started wearing them recently for sleep as he has a tendency to wake up suddenly in the first hour or two and he finds them great, very comfy.

I notice Boots have a range that are a similar shape - havent tried them though.

Yet another swimsuit disintegrated on me today (I get around 4 months out of one) but the ear plugs keep on trucking!!
