How Much To Fit a Power Shower

I am wondering if anyone here could give me an idea of how much a plumber would charge to install a power shower. I am considering the triton as2000xt thermostatic power shower.

It would be replacing an electric shower over a bath in an upstairs bathroom. The cold water tank is in the attic above and the hot press is in the kitchen downstairs. The house was built early 80's if this matters.

Personally I prefer the aqualisa power shower. It all depends hot much work is involved in getting a hot pipe from your shower back to the cyclinder. That's assuming the existing cold feed is going back to the attic tank directly and so the plumber could use this pipe again.

Which model Aqualisa shower is it. I'm not sure about the plumbing set up,wouldn't be well up on it to be honest . Is there an easy way to tell if the cold feed is going back to the attic and how difficult it would be to get a hot feed.

Go up to your attic over the shower. There should be a 1/2 inch pipe coming up and going straight into the tank. As for the hot feed I cannot say because it depends if you have to rise floor boards, chase a wall or whatever. On thing that is for sure though... Make sure your installer runs a seperate hot feed directly to your cyclinder and dosent tee of an existing hot pipe in your bathroom.

had this shower fitted nearly 2 yrs ago in place of gravity fed mixer shower. Plumber used existing feeds. Everything fine for about 6 months with heat control set to midpoint all was well. Then shower started going cold during operation. Had service guy out did some adjustment and commented about the fitting but i wasn't there so dont know exactly what he said. Worked away for another few months but now we hav to turn the heat setting till nearly the max to get a proper warm water flow. Any advice appreciated. Could it be anything to do with being teed off from the wrong feed.

dirtyDan, did you fit the AS200XT afterall – any early feedback? I’m thinking of installing this exact shower and was wondering if anyone had any feedback on it?
NotsocleanDan - did you get your problem fixed? Was it related to the pluming?

Dtp79 – my handyman is suggesting a separate hot feed from cylinder, but tapping off the existing cold feed from the attic tank – rather than a direct new cold feed – Triton guy recommended two new dedicated feeds so just wondering if it would be ok to do like handyman suggests. it’s a one bedroom house with one shower/bathroom so unlikely to have multiple uses in bathroom at same time.

    Much thanks for any feedback

First bit of advice would be to get a plumber in.
Handymen are for sweeping leaves etc.
you need a dedicated cold feed from your tank in your attic for your cold. Especially for your cold. If you've a mixer shower going and the existing cold gets starved what is left?? HOT water coming out of your shower. And to the best of my knowledge the triton is not a thermostatic shower.... So if the water is 65 in your cyclinder it's gonna be 65 on you! Trust me 65 is alot hotter than u think
