MTB/Touring shoe reccomendations

    Hey,

I've fitted SPDs to both my commuter and my roadbike (I know, I know...) and given the ropey weather of late I'm inclined to go clipped in on my commute every day (have slx trail pedals on the commuter so normal shoes are always an option) and was thinking of getting a second set of shoes for commuting walking around in all day.

I was looking at Wiggle and CRC last night but I need some advice on fit and suitability.

When I was buying my current Shimano XC50N shoes it was difficult to find a wide enough fit.

Also I'm trying to stay under e60 price wise.

I recently ordered a pair of shimano MTB shoes a size bigger than my regular shoes and the fit could not be better.

I did the same thing, and mine also fit perfect. I think the general rule of thumb with Shimano is to go one size up.

Can't help with the recommendation I'm afraid. I have a pair of Shimano touring shoes with recessed cleats, but you wouldn't want to be walking around all day in them.

Do them shoes take look cleats ?

Shimano MTB shoes are spd only. I've got MO87's and find them really comfortable and still going strong after 3 years of use.

Northwave are a popular cheap brand, use them for commuting myself. They aren't as good as my fancy shoes by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm sure I'll get a couple of years out of them with every day use nevertheless.

Same with the touring shoes AFAIK. Mine are SPD, and the recessed space for the cleats is fairly small.
