Not an experienced AEG modifier, but from what I've heard a lot lately is that G&G have dropped their standards. Personally, I think I'd try the King Arms. Haven't heard any bad reports about them, but I have yet to own an aeg made by them. Although I did just buy a G&G SR25 so perhaps that negates my point...

You could buy the externals by them selves and not buy a base gun? That's what I did for my project.

Own a King Arms M4A1 and it's perfect the way it is for a stock AEG:
    - Real COLT Trademarks.
    - Good finish.
    - Excellent hop-up (Using a Madbull blue rubber and nub).
    - Gearbox is perfect.
    - Fast motor.

Something you should know about is it's a bit tricky to disassemble it. I had to cut my wiring (Front-wired) so that I could remove the two receivers, but I remember someone mentioned that you can get a tamiya connecter removal pin to make the job easier.

First off what 422 nd said is all too true g&g have dropped standards and unfortunately this has happened to all their guns.
Secondly the king arms colt is an amazing model to build off, an really nice metal body, nice motor and gearbox and an overall really nice build and if you want to make a project I would definitely recommend this
lastly what. K.A.L.I.M.A. said about removing the tamiya cconnector is just as easy to do with a small flat head screwdriver. All you do is find a screwdriver that fits just inside the tamiya and push out the pin. Do not use a philips or the pin will be destroyed and most importantly.......do not rush you only have one chance :)

    - 1 on G&G dropping their standards. My G&G M4 is 6 months old now and apart from the mag catch working its way loose (partly my fault for not checking the gun for loose parts), it has been faultless, consistently chronoing at 300fps+ and it's stock.

Recently bought a second hand G&G Raider and it's in tip top condition, and rock solid.

I've also been on the lookout for a MP5 and the G&G models are far superior to the rest on the market.

Like all things in life, we all have our differing opinions based on our own experiences. I guess if my aegs had given me grief, I'd also be slagging off G&G but the two I own are faultless (of course I've probably tempted fate by saying that:D)

Dave made a good point there, all brands have good and bad points, some people swear by certain brands some do not. It is what it is.

Every brand can have a dud every now and again (even top name ones) which makes people sometimes assume that it is a crap brand. It happens same as getting a car even top brands break down. Then you hear on boards at least once a week "G&G quality has gone downhill" maybe it has, but I think they are a good starter for anyone getting into the sport.

Unless you seriously dog it with your aeg, thrash it around the place and toss it aside after every skirmish, of course it is guna pack in. If you look after your aeg, like a car it will look after you. Clean the barrel, periodically inspect the externals and internals for wear and tear an no aeg good name or not should fail on you (for a while :)).

Now like everything electro/mechanical, parts deteriorate from wear, again brands in the upper end of the aeg spectrum will have better quality materials used and these will take longer to wear down but inevitably they will, preventative maintenance slows this down and gets the most out of your aeg.

The KA M4 is the best choice out of the lot, in my experience of them. The G&G Rush, is... well shíte... The CM16, is okay from what I've seen of them, but unless you get very, very lucky and get an older model, I wouldn't bother. My only gripe with the KA M4 is that the tamiya connector is wired straight through to the gear box with no break in the middle. So anytime you want to split the receivers you have to remove it.

Otherwise though, it's solidly built, KA motors aren't amazing but they're good, their pistons seem to be kind of weak in my experience and airseal out of the box is not great, but could be far better!
