Just reading the case and couldn't help but think what is it that makes us Irish farmers fued over the land. Interesting case, anyone know the farm in question, doesn't really say who farms it currently.

    http://www.rte.ie/news/2013/0129/365175-oleary-hayes-will-court/

Two Co Wexford men have been found guilty of forging a will of a dead farmer.
William O'Leary, 49, from Arthurstown and businessman Noel Hayes, 59, from Ramsgrange had denied forging the will of bachelor farmer Matthew Hayes.

Mr Hayes died in hospital aged 82 on 25 December 1998.
A third man, Charlie O'Leary, pleaded guilty in 2009 of being involved in the forgery and was given a suspended sentence.
O'Leary testified against his brother Willie and former best friend Noel Hayes.
Judge Raymond Fullam ordered William O'Leary not to contact his brother Charlie and he remanded O'Leary and Hayes on bail while adjourning sentencing until 25 February.

+1. This is the lowest form of theft. Robbing a dying man.

Let's hope they rot. Forgery is the lowest act.

    [MOD]

We have to be very careful about commenting on court cases in these forums, lest we (that's the individual poster, and Boards.ie) stumble into interfering with or prejudicing the operation of the court, so we mods have strict instructions to keep a close eye on this sort of thing.

In this particular case, the defendants have been found guilty and named in the public press, so there's no issue with posting the names or the details of the case as publicly published.

However, these persons are still before the court pending sentencing, so I'd ask everyone to be moderate and thoughtful when posting on that particular aspect of the case.

Agreed. I posted last year in the heat of the moment about my brother forging my signature to move 30 cattle from my herd into his before it was discussed with the dept or solicitors.
