Not sure if this is best place for this.

Has anyone put custom firmware on theirs?
Most custom firmware out there seems old enough not sure if i should go ahead and do it?

Maybe this could be moved? I dont think its in the right place
    Probably here would be best

I have wdlxtv firmware on mine and while it is buggy i find it better than the stock one. Recently the stock firmware was playing up and not responding. The WDLXTV sorted that out and I havent had many issues with it since then. The odd time it freezes for about 10-15 seconds opening a movie.

I have set up the WDFLIX plugin which allows you to stream movies/tv shows from the usual streaing sites which works well a lot of the time but not all the time....
TBH i havent used all of the features available to it. Apparently you can setup the torrent client on it so it will download and unpack the file...also the FTP and SSH access can be setup for easier transfers....there is also something about setting up the wed interface so you can access from outside your home network....

overall its good not amazing but much better than the stock

I guess it is probably best to note which version of the wdtv you are talking about here as from what I remember and have read a few months ago the WDTV SMP can't handle any customer firmware.
