Hi I'm looking to get an engagement ring made and have gotten several quotes around the €2500 mark for .50c diamond. I've just gotten a quote for 1250 for .25c from cut price jewellers on meath street. I know .50 will be dearer he couldn't give me an exact quote for it yet just rough ballpark one but still massively cheaper than high street prices. My question is has anyone gotten an engagement ring from there and what's the verdict if you have? I know all about the 4 c's and everything else associated with buying the ring I'm happy with what he's offering on that front. I'm just looking for some reviews please.

Seem very high prices to me, but bespoke can have any price tag really and getting one made is dearest option always. Look online, diamondmanufacturers.co.uk is where I got one and .5 carat can be had for £1k or so.
Was 100% happy with their customer service too.

Thanks but I've looked at thousands of rings so far and decided the one I want needs to be made (jewellers don't stock this type of ring) I've enquired in loads of places and he is by far the cheapest for colour cut clarity I'm looking for so just looking for anyone who's had experience with buying from him really and how satisfied they are. Cut price jewellers on meath street thanks.

I disagree that bespoke is more expensive. We got our wedding rings specifically designed and made for us at almost half the price were quoted by shops. We got ours made by Michael Horan. He's near Tullamore/Athlone. We travelled there but it was completely worth the couple of trips to get the rings designed, etc...

Give him a call, way cheaper than any high street shop.

Ive no reviews of where you are getting it made but I think that is VERY expensive for the size stone you are looking at (I'm presuming you are looking at a d colour, vs clarity).

I know you have researched your four c's etc... But there is plenty to be said for reducing the clarity, colour to get a bigger stone.

As you are not looking for recommendations I won't post any but would advise to shop around.

Does nobody on this site read the previous posts? Is it any wonder every thread goes off original topic. I'm looking for reviews and opinions of cut price jewellers on meath street. nothing else

Thanks I've shopped around its an unusual ring basically has 25 small diamonds and a main diamond in an unusual setting. everywhere else I've tried quoted me over 2k he's giving me g colour vs very good cut. actually better than I'm being quoted elsewhere at half the price. My girlfriend has very small fingers so anything bigger than .25 in the style I want will just look out of place.
