Addiction in health care

I'm trying to do a bit of research on the topic of addiction within health professions. There is not a lot of info out there; anyone aware of any resources available on the net?

There's a world of stuff out there, the real problem is in distinguishing wheat from chaff. Type "addiction within health care professions" into Google and the search brings up 112M hits.

Try varying the search criteria e.g. "chemical dependency in health care professionals" brings up 3.12M hits, while "chemical abuse in health care professionals" brings up 17.9M hits.

The first page or so in each case should supply you with enough common references to get you started.

You could also try pubmed /medline etc and other healthcare spoecific repositories. Your local admin manager can get you set up with access if you don't already have the (restricted) login details.

In what sense? It is not generally how I consider addiction but I would imagine you have something in mind; I open to looking at it in anyway.

I would also imagine that you are talking about addiction in general; rather than the specific area I'm looking at in this thread.

Well you got me there because I havent actually got anything in mind but one of my lecturers works on neurochemical addiction and I can ask her.
