How did you find them in regards to prices and getting anything from them ie xtra rooms or canapés

We're getting married there this year also. The OH's sister had her wedding there last year and no complaints. We did get them to drop the price but I am a member of the golf club there so it had a bit of sway. Overall it's a great venue

I've been to a wedding there and it was nice - it was a very big wedding and everything went like clockwork. However when we went to view it for our own I was not impressed - the woman we were dealing with did not get back to us with information we wanted when she said she would and generally gave us the impression that she wasn't interested in our business. We may be having a smaller wedding but it is still a considerable spend. So we crossed them off our list and looked elsewhere.

I have heard they already have as many wedding booked this year as they heard last year, even so I would be suprised if they were not willing to negotiate. Worth asking them what they would throw in if you moved your wedding to the Thursday.
Saying that I looked at quiet a few venues and even without them throwing in loadss of freebies I cant remember seeing anywhere as nice within my budget.

I'm surprised at this. The big room can take 200+ but can be halved with dividers for smaller weddings but there's an even smaller room the other side of that again. I think they'll only do 1 wedding a night so as they know they'll sell the big room out every fri-sat they can afford to say min 150. You may get the smaller room on a Thursday.
    Great spot. Very popular.

    Hi everybody
Would really appreciate some help please- we have our wedding booked in Mt Wolseley for next year (2014). Deposit paid. CAn anyone who has had their wedding there or is having their wedding there in the next while tell me what deals they got? I feel like we got very little from them in terms of negotiations.
Did they throw in any free canapes? Or reduced rates for food the next day? Free/reduced rates for children? What rate have they set as guests B&B price?
Would really appreciate some help as feel we have been hard done by
    Many thanks

why are you feeling hard done by? Were you told by someone else that they got it a lot cheaper or are you working off anecdotal bargaining stories from other hotels?
Not all hotels bargain. Some do just so the b&g can feel like theyre getting a good deal and therefore have a better feel good factor about booking but would have offered a higher price to start with. other hotels give you rock bottom price and say take it or leave it.
