I have to bring car back for rest this afternoon. The are only going to check a loose drop-link and a parking light bulb.

Do I have to remove hub caps, check tyre pressure, clean car etc for a retest? I was sure I didnt, and havent it done.

No, you can't (not sure about tyre pressure). Your car will be retested only regarding faults found at the first time. :)

Sorry for hijacking thread but have a quick query relating to a retest.

Got a retest date of 15th may as it says on the form.
Does this mean the car must be tested by then or does it mean I need to book it before then?

thats the date your car has to be passed by ... if it fails and goes beyond that date then full test again

so book well in advance to ensure you actually do get in on time

    Won't let me

So it's possibly already 21 days past.
Then you need to book a full test.

    will let you

    Can you explain please?

Earliest day available to me is the 20th May. When I try to book this it says:

Re-Test should be booked within 30 days of prior test. Please select an earlier Booking DateWednesday, 15 May 2013 11:59 PM

when you say the website wont let you then you should be more specific like this.

You cant book past your date like the site says.

    Keep checking it for cancellations.
