    Hi Guys,

I need to replace tyres on my car. Currently have Kenda Kaisers fitted 225/45/R18. They're ok nothing to write home about in fact I would prefer something that grip a bit better in the wet. Budget something less than 130e each preferably. Any advice.

Also last two sets of tyres have wore on the inside despite tracking being done at local tyre fitters. I've read that my car can be adjusted at the rear wheels and that these should be set up first and front aligned off them. Last time I had the tracking done the fitter just worked on the front as I was looking at him.

Any place around Limerick that has a good 4 wheel alignment set uo that you could reccomend.

Great place for tyres www.camskill.co.uk a lot cheaper than what you will get charged here. All you have to pay for here is the fitment.

I've had my alignment done in Limerick Tyre Centre out in Raheen, opposite the Toyota dealer. Mine are 225/40/r18 on the front and 255/35/r18 on the rear, no problems around getting alignment done there.

Not always cheaper than some local places though, really depends on the tyre you are buying and who you are buying them from. I've bought from both btw.

Tbh unless you're buying cheapo tyres here you will save money, even if it's €50 better in your pocket than theirs. I saved €60 a tyre on my first occasion buying from that site and have never looked back. I only buy quality tyres and they are always well overpriced here.

    OP check link here http://www.camskill.co.uk/m61b0s557p97996/Falken_Tyres_Car_Falken_FK452_Falken_FK_452_-_225_45_R18_95Y_XL_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_NA_Wet_Grip%3A_NA_NoiseClass%3A_NA_Noise%3A_NA

Just on the limit of your budget but a far superior tyre compared to Kenda Kaisers. I've never even heard of that brand!

I have that size and I found it incredibly hard to find a tyre locally, and certainly not at that price for a decent brand. I went with Bridgestones at €180 a corner in the end, plus €40 for the alignment.

Even from the list of tyres that could be ordered in the cheapest was €150 so you might be better off ordering from Camskill or Eiretyres.

I currently have Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas, great grip from them, nice looking thread and they are wearing nicely but the walls are on the fragile side as I have already had to replace one due to accidental wall damage from a kerb.

I'd probably be looking at these next time:

I've bought plenty of tyres both online and locally, none of them have been cheap rubbish. As I said it depends on the tyre and who you buy them from. Local tyre centres are aware of online competition these days and alot do their best to match or come close to online prices, especially when you take into account exchange rates and cost of having them fitted, balanced and disposal of old tyres. I'd prefer to support my local business if it is cost effective to do so.

I never said you bought cheap rubbish I was making a statement. Local tyre centres do not match tyre prices, believe me I have tried several places around Dublin and not one would even lower the original price quoted to me.

You will have to pay to have the tyres fitted, wheels balanced and old tyres disposed, I usually pay €10 a tyre for this service. I would like to support local business but when the local business charges far too much money to use why wouldn't you go elsewhere, especially when you can get the exact same product for cheaper. End of the day the tyres aren't Irish they are all imported. No problem paying for the Irish labour to fit them.

I cannot speak for Dublin prices as I don't live there but down here when you take exchange rate and fitting into account the last time I had to buy one tyre I would have only saved €5 by buying it online and would have had to wait 2 days for the tyre to arrive. I also always compare prices but the gap has definately narrowed.
