    Hi,

Looking for some advice here. I am looking at an Insignia Sports Tourer 2012 (SE).

Somebody mentioned to me that I should stay away from Opel's due to cost of parts and resale value.

    Any thoughts on this?

PS. I looked through the search function and could not find any information relating to this.

    Thanks
    Tom

Never knew Opel parts were anymore expensive than it's competitors. Nice looking car but from what I have seen the design of the boot hatch eats into the rear space. Best thing to do is test one out.

Resale values of Insignia's are a lot stronger than expected to be when they first came out.

Tyre costs are pretty high as that model is running 18" wheels - 245/45/18. While it's possible to get those tyres in a mid range brand name, most places either stock cheap chinese sh1te or premium tyres. 4 Conti's and tracking could well set you back over a grand.

Don't think parts are expensive. In the right colour it's a lovely looking car, and I love the electric opening and closing of the boot.

true, but in England they are cheap second hand, well worth while importing one and clearing it.

But then you have a Vauxhall, and the badge just looks wrong to me. Also a chance that it's lower specification than the Irish model as Sat Nav is a seperate model on UK cars, but standard on all MY2012 onwards Opel Insignia's (except S).

looked at this last weekend for the brother in law.
I certainly could not justify the cost of going over and VRT'ing a car against an Irish sale by the figures I was looking at.
Car was an 09 1.6 petrol btw.

yeah, importing a petrol model is a non runner.

Re; the vauxhall, so what......it's just badging .......I import, clear and resell lots of vauxhalls, and buyers don't care, its all about the deal.
