What do you guys think, will it be effective or just a bit of a laugh. 24 hour protest, should be interesting.
So, there is a NOISE-MUSIC PROTEST taking place tomorrow, outside DAIL EIREANN 1PM, over the Government's mishandling of the BANK DEBT.

We have been footing the bill of all the tables in a restaurant that did a hit and runner, so to speak.

Everything has been lumped into the 'Irish Bank Debt' - but this includes **billions** from private debts of bondholders
i.e. German, French and British banks that lent to Irish banks to speculate on the Property Market that have nothing to do with the Irish people.

In the words of Vincent Browne:
THIS IS NOT OUR DEBT ... WE ARE UNDER NO LEGAL OR MORAL OBLIGATION TO PAY THIS BACK.'

Yet so far, we *are* paying all debts, including these private bondholder debts.

The Government are in **** deep with what they guaranteed in 2008 by saying they'd guarantee the banks.

They had no idea what they were actually promising.

There was no itemised bill, so to speak, no full details, no legislation.

Our government literally signed a blank cheque on a moment of weakness and confusion.
Because of that, all these *smart* bankers are lumping their private debts on to us, the Irish tax-payer.

We literally are footing the bill of all the tables in a restaurant, when we weren't even out for dinner - but our country's credit card was.

Why are we paying debts we don't own?
***Because the majority of people are not informed, outraged and protesting over it!!!!!!!!!!!***

If a stranger demanded you paid drinks for them all night you'd soon tell them to '**** off.'

This is exactly what's happening to us, on a grand scale so big, we can't even grasp how much money we're actually talking about.

Ongoing negotiations are taking place because people are realising how unfair and immoral it is to expect the Irish tax payer to pay for something that has nothing to do with them.

WE DO NOT HAVE TO DO THIS:
'THIS IS NOT OUR DEBT ... WE ARE UNDER NO LEGAL oR MORAL OBLIGATION TO PAY THIS BACK.'

Our government has behaved in a reckless way, putting the banks first before the welfare of its nation.

And the majority of Irish people seem fine with it i.e. they are not out on the streets, making noise, demanding their rights to democracy and a government that acts in the interest of its people.

It is obvious to the world it is grossly unfair what is happening to the people of Ireland.

Even Avaaz.org, who campaigns to address crises happening in the world, has appealed to the Irish Government to protect its people.

We are living in a dream, our head tucked in the sand, hoping someone else will sort it out - but no one is.

It is now up to each and every one of us:
TO TAKE ACTION, TO MAKE A STAND, TO USE OUR BODY AS AN OBSTACLE AND FORM A BARRIER, TOGETHER, SO THAT THE GOVERNMENT AND THESE BANKERS CANNOT WALK ALL OVER US ANY LONGER.

*****THE FIGHT IS NOT OVER, IT IS JUST BEGINNING *****

We're talking 20 years minimum of - unemployment, higher taxes, cut services and benefits along with mass emigration if we do not help ourselves while we still can.

We are going back to famine times, but it doesn't have to be this way.

I want to invoke the feeling of rebelliousness in the Irish people once again. To fuel the fire that drove us to fight for our independance from Great Britain.

The threat to our sovereignty is now one of economic enslavement.

The Protest begins at 1pm, and continues onwards.

Bring something to make noise on. Make a banner. Stand your ground.

'Romantic Ireland is Rising from its Grave, at last!'

We are going back to famine times

Seems like a reasonable, level-headed comparison...

If we put a tax on mixed metaphors and quoting Leaving Cert Yeats poems, we'll have the debt cleared in no time.

There's a smell of "Crusties" about that protest.

    I'll warm up the truck.
