What to do with Car when tax is out of date?

    Hi All,

I received two fines for none display of road tax in the space of two weeks. The car has been unused and parked outside my home for over two months. There seems to be a traffic warden that now does his rounds on the road every two weeks around the same time, which to me is not a visible presence in this area due to people having schedules. I would think having a presence in an area would be to have a random schedule where a road is not visited at the same time every second week. He also seems to forget to put any indication that a fine has been issued on the car which is another lack of displaying a presence.
Sorry back to the fine. My house does not have a driveway or rear entrance so I'm just wondering if anyone has any options as to what I can do with the car (I want to keep the car and tax when I get money). It seems very unfair that due to the fact that I have no driveway and park my car on the road exactly outside my home unused that I can be served this fine.
I have heard ideas of parking in private car parks but for a duration it could be seen as an abandoned vehicle plus if I was to park it in a pay per hour car park then the fee's would be astronomical. For me there doesnt seem to be any leeway for financial difficulties, its either pay your tax or take the fine. There isn't an option to have the car untaxed, unused and worry free from parking fines. Reading through the other forums there are people saying tough luck its on a public road. I agree its on a public road and if my home was capible of having a driveway I could have parked my car 4-5 meters from where it was originally parked for the fine. What difference would that make to being on the side of the road to in the front garden? I think this method of fines is very atrocious.
Sorry for the rant :) but any help on where the car can be left would be appriciated.

buy a car cover, dont know if that would help. But if you are parked on local road then find a better spot for it.

I think part of the system is that people won't be able to "park up" unused cars in public parking spaces. No tax=not used.
Sure on minor public roads this can be a hassle but it's a blanket law for all public roads/streets.

Probably be best if you can find some room at a friends house or field.
There are storage places, this one in Dublin, get a quote and see if it's worth it.

    U have two options:
1.tax your car( and pay the fine)
    2. Pay the fine and park your car on private property.
