Best Patch Cables: Value vs Tone Quality

    Hey all,
I need to kit out my pedal board with a full set of patch cables following a recent move to individual stomp boxes from muliteffects.
I have 4 Loopers and about 25 stomp boxes.
I would need around 60 cables, varying in length from 6" to 40".
Can someone please advise of a good quality cable or brand which I could get in Ireland to allow me set these up.
At present I'm using about 15 gold tipped patch cables you get in 6 packs but I need a more long term solution.
I've looked at things like George Ls and Lava Cables but they just don't seem to be cost effective for this number of cables (I don't want to spend like €1000).
So if my budget was around €150, what would you guys recommend.
Please keep your opinions on "Tone Suckage" to yourselves... I have several loopers to ensure the sound only goes through around 5 pedals at a time... And I prefer buffered sound if I'm being honest :)

For that amount of cables, make your own. Get an Antex iron in Maplins for 20 quid, and you can pick up some decent cable like Canare cable or Mogami, and some decent connectors like Neutrix or even those pancake jacks if you prefer. You'd find yourself saving a fortune, and you'd have decent cables.

Perhaps it would be worth contacting the likes of this company and getting a bulk order of jacks.

You could get these 50c each

Tayda are great & very reasonable shipping

Personally I prefer the neutrik ones
Thoman's Cordial cables work out cheaper than one neutrik on their own
Ive used them & had no problems also easy to chop or lengthen

Thanks for the link to tayda hadnt heard of them before but ahve a nice selection of items for some other projects. Have you gotten things before from them?

Now that I am finishing up college finally I might actually get around to finishing my pedal board builds and will be doing som similar wiring myself. Handy to know about the cordial neutriks. I have a bunch of cables and those solid jack to jacks but might need some more.

Noticed a bit of difference when i switched to george l's but yeah with 5 quid a pop for one jack the make your own cables route like mentioned above is the way forward (Y)

Ive placed a good few orders with them for pedal parts etc
They give a great service, shipping takes about 10 days & if you check their facebook page they give a 15% discount about twice a month

Shipping is determined by the size of order & is from about €2 up
