Vw passat new shape

    I bought a 05 new shape passat 2.0 tdi 140bhp 6speed box, its the sports model.. im findin that when i lay off the throttle theres a hummin noise comin in it, think maybe its the gearbox, also hard to get 1st and 6th gear??? does anybody no what this could be?? what are the common faults in them??

    The gearboxes on these give a lot of trouble depending on how long it has been making noise they can been very expensive to re-build. 2nd hand is not a good option as they give so much hassle you have no idea how long it ll last.

    ye i think its comin from the gearbox, when i take it out of gear the noise disappears.. ????
