Garda Vetting for Voluntary Organisations

Hi all,

Not that I have anything to worry about myself at all but I just find it strange A voluntary organisation that I am part of has notified all members that it is now apparently mandatory from the 1st of January for all members to complete a Garda Vetting form but I cannot find anything on this. Just find it a little strange.Any idea where I would get this info?

What info exactly? The form? Ask the voluntary organisation concerned to send you the form they want you to complete.

Pretty much anyone working with children or vulnerable adults needs to be vetted even if its voluntary. I help out with my daughters Irish dancing feis's just sorting the girls out with numbers and getting them ready to go dance and I have to be vetted.

I was basically looking for info on where it was announced that it was now mandatory.

Whether it's mandatory for you depends on what work you do through the voluntary organisation with which you are connected.
