Not the most practical of answers, but the best value is on the ferry to Britain.
Failing that, the price at Dublin airport is a few quid cheaper than in town, if you know anyone travelling. They can pay for it and collect on their return too, so as not to have to cart it about while abroad.

Local off licence has a 2003 bottle at 150 euro, would this be particularly good value? I see its on the celtic whiskey shop website at 330 euro but perhaps thats a tad overpriced.

€150 seems to be the going rate for whatever bottle they have in stock in most places.

Someone else on here seemed to think that the newer vintages had blends of younger casks so it might be a better bottle than a 2012.

Midleton Rare is made to a certain profile and what ever whiskey is required to do that is used so a mixture of young or old whiskey can be used to get the desired effect.

Any current vintage 2011/2012/2013 shoulf be around the 150-155 mark where ever you look.

Any of the earlier vintages sold in the Celtic WHiskey shop are being sold as collectors bottles hence the difference in price.

Getting it on line may reveal initial savings but once postage is factored in it will probably even uo.

£120 stg here which is about €140 but not sure on postage. Germany may be possibly cheaper but postage would be more.

Youd be better of just buying locally to save yourself all the time and effort.

The only possible good deal is if Tesco or Dunnes had one of their 10% off deals that they always used to have before.

One lucky Man there, that is a beautiful Whiskey and is far superior to the Regular Midleton in my opinion.

2011 is reduced from €155 to €116 in Superquinn blackrock.

They also had Jameson Select Reserve reduced from €42 to €31 or €32 I think.
