You know the way we always have loads of posters giving out about immigrants getting medical services before Irish people?

I think for once I agree with them, and to acknowledge their victory I think they should get to go first.

Never mind sterilising them. How's about we just test them for dangerous infectious diseases and give them medicals on arrival instead? That would be a start. It would seriously impact on the levels of HIV here for starters, and would probably reverse the upsurge in tuberculosis too.

Fúck sterilizing them, health checks, vaccinations against certain diseases (MMR and the like) and a good criminal record check. Enough scumbags of our own, we shouldn't have to deal with the rest of the worlds too. If they are vaccinated and without murder, theft, rape, etc type charges, then grand let 'em in, if not, then we have enough problems. Same with the Irish going abroad too!

It's not sterilisation, it's a birth control injection good for 3+ months, I'd imagine you know women on it. The issue is really in administering a prescription drug without concent, and implicit racism and such.

A more interesting way of starting this thread would be to ask if asylum seekers should be kept from falling pregnant on Irish soil in case they gain asylum on those grounds. I'd say no, that's preposterous, but this is AH, I'm sure we'd get milage...

cant bloody get it from mine as am under power of attorney and they say being incapacitated by the monthlies for a week as well as in severe pain is normal and shoud be learned to deal with.

Don't think this idea was properly thought out. Surely if, say a woman was coming into the country and she had just become pregnant, this injection would either cause some sort of birth defect or seeing as it is illegal here, might abort the fetus? And what country has the right to force any of this on anyone?

Besides, no matter how terrible the government is here, surely they wouldn't stoop that low!

If they ask for it then sure. And lets convince drug addicts to be sterilised too in exchange for cash - can't see the harm there.
