Thanks steyrman!! Hope you are liking the Sako. I was looking at the Aimpoint but they are expensive.
    Any other recommendations?

    Aimpoint :)

EDIT : sorry just reading your last post and you want a cheaper option. Aim sports do a cheap vesion of it if you want to have a tube. otherwise you can get a panoramic the like of Burris fast fire or Docter sight. You can consider Meopta or the panorama MK as well.

    What is your budget ?

I have an Aimpoint H34S and it is great can't fault it, They are expensive but they are worth it.
Here is a H30s about two hundred euro cheaper than you will find anywhere else. you would probably need a h34l/h30l though. send them a message they are the distributors for aimpoint in ireland.

Im thinking of something along these lines...will they cope with the magnum recoil and hold zero...anyone have experience of these sights?

I would contact them to make sure as it looks like it was designed for 5.56/223 thats not to say it won't handle the recoil but i would check first.
That is why I suggested the aimpoint hunter series they are designed for 458lott etc. But if it can take the recoil it'll do the same thing. One thing to consider though is the moa dot try and get the smallest moa dot you can. If you buy a reddot with a 4moa dot for example at 100y it'll be a 4 inch diameter dot on your target with human error and a running boar i would want to be as precise as possible. The dot in mine is 2moa and i would'nt want it any bigger.:)
If you are around dublin at all you can come and have a look at it if you want.

Well if it's cheap 'n cheerful then have a look at these. They are said to be shotgun rated. I have one on my 22lr, I know that's not gone'a test it but it works great.

1 MOA and brightness control with red or green reticle and 4 different reticles. They come in 11mm or picatinny mount

£34 inc P&P if it works great, if it don't then no harm.

If you are looking for a well priced but quality Red dot look at Docter Sight III.

If money is no object look for Aimpoint H30 or H34.
