    Approx 6ft tall/31" inside leg
Had a 2008/2009 18" carrera fury for a while which I got at a good price , nice spec'd mtb but always felt crunched up. Tried putting a longer stem on it but never felt 100%, probably more to do with the fact that Im 17st.
Was looking at the 20" Carrera Kracken which is at a reasonable price at the moment. Beside the the usual sizing tips online, any to add?

    Seat height/30deg leg angle
Seat ajusted on rails so knee is more or less over pedel when parrell with ground

Do people still go up/down 3rock and the likes or that just a NoNo now?

In relation to the sizing, going by your measurements the issue with your original bike was in simple terms the length of the bike, height could have been adjusted to suit but the bike was just too short . Being 6 ft tall and having a 31 inch inside leg measurement means more of your height is in your torso as opposed to your legs. Therefore you need to increase the distance from seatpost to stem, a 19.5 / 20 inch frame will be perfect for you.

With regard to the bike while getting a reasonably good review from bikeradar for a bike within its range it would be worth looking to see if you can increase your budget to get something with better components which will be more durable, lighter and more enjoyable to ride.....
