Im a 19 year old student and I just got my first job, its 16 hrs pw and 165.28 every week. so every month i should gross 661.21 euro. Im curious how much i will be taxed .

i've heard some stories that the government doesnt tax students, dont know whether to believe it tbh. thanks in advance!

You'll pay PRSI on that, not sure about USC, try a tax calculator that will give you all the details.

Remember if your earnings go up, e.g. in the summer that will increase your liability

You entered your annual income at €661. Weekly at €13

There is no such thing as a student exemption to paye. Just like every other paye worker, whether you pay tax, USC or PRSI is based on your own personal circumstances. Links below will be of assistance to you.

You should not pay prsi as you are in class AO earning between 38-352 meaning employees pay no prsi employers would pay 4.25% I'm not sure about the USC I think u might have to pay something but it will be the lower rate of 2% (192-gross pay x 2 \100) as far as I know this is correct! Sorry in advance if I am wrong. Paye will depend on your personal circumstances
