Im playing off 17 at the moment..not sure what competition i should be targeting. my club is entering 10 teams to various comps and qualifiers are due to start in coming weeks hopefully. what are the comps all about?

Bloom Cup would be ideal I reckon, depending on where you are with your handicap, Pierce Purcell might also be an option.
There is also the Best Cup, but offhand I cant remember the handicap restrictions, but Im pretty sure its the higher end of things.

Might be a year too soon for the Pierse Purcell unless you are playing 2-3 shots better than your handicap. Format is foursomes for those with a min handicap of 12 and a min combined of 27. Clubs tend to pair 13&14s and 12&15s...always room for exceptions but there's a bit of (good) pressure in foursomes and you'd need to be confident.

No harm trying out for it as long as you know it's a bit of a reach. Nothing like the buzz of playing for your club.
