    Simple one really

Good lady wife has just informed me she's whisking me away for a three nighter in late Feb. We're limited in terms of flights/childcare/places we've been already to the above 2. A little sightseeing but mainly relaxing meals, strolling, bevvies would be the order the the day - so which would boardsies recommend - and why - Rome or Berlin?

Been to Rome twice and loved it, but Id favour Berlin. Real culture there, lots to do, amazing city and cheap. One of my favourite cities in Europe!

Both places have more pros than cons but if you've already been to both cities I would choose Rome at the time of year you're planning.

Simple because the weather is twice as warm as Berlin on average at that time.

And as I sit here looking out at the cold wind and rain, that is enough to swing it for me.

haven't actually been to either Lapin but that's very interesting re the difference in temp - had thought of that but didn't realise it would be that much of a difference - still Berlin might be edging it from a price perspective (flights and once we get there...)

Berlin will most likely be *really cold* in February. Have a quick look at a map and see how far North it is. Then scroll down and see how far South Rome is.

Later in the year I would say Berlin - there is loads to do there and it's really easy to get around (the centre at least). Obviously both cities have history coming out the wazoo and have loads of stuff in them, but the weather in February would be the determining factor for me at least.
