    Hi all.

As above, the other halfs starlet has blown the dims bulb on the passenger side so I'm gonna try and replace it this evening. Is it straight forward clip in clip out or is there more to it?

    Thanks in advance.

It's pretty easy if it's anything like the Corolla, reach in behind the light cluster and pull out the bulb holder.

Edit, googled it and found this

    thanks biko,

had seen that alright but figured it might be different, older model starlet. had seen some other forums talking of taking out entire headlight assembly so i got the fear :)

hopefully will be straight forward enough.

    thanks again

update, bloody rubber boot feels like its glued onto the thing and i didnt want to force it, ironically the boot on the good headlight pops off nice and easy grr, time for a professional! thanks for the advice anyway

Just peel the boot off from the edge, don't panic you won't do it any harm. Grab the electrical connector and wriggle it from side to side eventually it will start to slide off(they can be very tight). Open the clip (if it hasn't sprung open during the connector struggle) by squeezing both lugs together, take out the bulb and straight away put in the replacement without touching the glass. Make especially sure its seated properly in the headlight. The wider of the three lugs is topmost,(almost vertical). Put the electrical block back on making sure to push it all the way onto the bulb. Put on the rubber boot and thats it. One of the easier ones tbh.

Cheers jca. Yip it seems fairly straightforward alright just didn't want to force and rip the boot. The working headlights boot just popped off but of course the one I wanted to take off was glued to it! Gonna leave it for now anyway. Tomorrow is another day :)
    Thanks again
