Can't stand it anymore, the last few years have been awful.

It's still hugely popular over here though, as the amount of votes suggests.

I'm new to it but it seems to be better than say fannings fab 50.

The music is current , not full of Katy perry etc (although the #1 is questionable the last two years).

Was it much better years ago?

I've never heard of the song at number one.

Was listening to it in the woolshed as well on Saturday.
    had to Shazaam #1.
    Thrift Shop or something?
    Horrible, ploddy, directionless, trendy tune.

Had a look at the top 10, happy with Tame Impala, Alt J and Frank Ocean, but the rest ain't great. Number 1 is catchy I guess.

It didn't fill me with confidence or invite me to check out anything else on the list to be honest.

Love Macklemore. Great mix of serious and funny tunes, and I'm not normally a big hip-hop fan.

If you're planning to judge Macklemore off of one of his less serious songs, don't bother.

Since it was announced that Macklemore made number one I've been wracking my brains for the reason why I had an immediate dislike of him. Today the penny dropped and the link was made  -

I watched it with the sound off. It looked like something I would not like.

Then I made the mistake of watching it with the sound on. Ugh. I was right.

Amazingly i don't think it's that bad, much worse hip/hop out there, at least he hits some of the elements of what hip/hop is. Knowing where your from and proud of it.

Not saying he's the next scholar poet but there are far far worse than him out there.
