Nothing unusual I had a small area set aside as a Sanctuary as well..complete waste of time, they even shot the Game Sanctuary signs.

No I didn't approach them as I didn't want to risk getting into a fight with them and Archer this is not land we have set aside. Its land that belongs to bird watch ireland or one of the wildlife groups.

You don't have to get into a fight by approaching them.

How do you know how they would have reacted?

Because most of these guys will move away rather than have confrontation, and even if they do get heated you can walk away.

No its in Kilcoole. Our gunclub had the shooting on it till a few years ago, then it was bought by one of the wildlife groups.I think it was Bird Watch Ireland.

I would suggest the your club approach Bird watch Ireland and get this stopped before bird watch Ireland approach your club and this all will work in yer favour showing that yee all all above board.

The one beside the train stop. Birdwatch Ireland own that reserve. They won't be too happy that people are poaching on their land.

Best off you didnt say anything, sometimes its not worth it as much as it can burn you up for not doing it,no point being a hero and getting your head stitched or your jaw wired after, a couple of weeks back i was on the way back to the jeep when i came across a group of knacks with lurchers and these things that had a lurcher body with a pit bulls head ,big ****ers.i asked them what they were at and got just after a few foxes boss answer ,i was on my own and there were loads of them so i just said there were no foxes around and headed off ,then they started shouting abuse after me so i just got back to the jeep and drove off down the lane then jackpot they parked the van at the gateway ...hope they had 4 spare tyres with them that day:D

100% ,only one way up this lane so you have to park in this spot , no tax or insurance on display and mucky dog prints at the doors.

Suprised they weren't spotted by the wardens there, or any of the visiting birdwatchers etc.

That's very fortunate you didn't park there as the person who slashed their tyres would have slashed your tyres if you'd parked your jeep there..

Very unlucky how unfortunate things happen to folks like this. Karma eh!!

Seems to be a trend of hare/ fox goers on the loose lately with lurcher crosses. North Corks seems to be gettin a dose lately.

Was talking to one land owner lately and he was going mental he was finding dead hares all over his land and thrown at gateways. We dont shoot hares as a rule in our club but for ****s sake if you kill one bring it home and stick it in the pot, just killing them for sport is wrong and will see numbers fall in the next few years but it very hard to anything about people who are a law on to themselves. Some of the mix breeds are nasty looking bastards (the dogs i mean , not the vermin who own them)

I dunno - i've see some right pieballs!!!
Luckily our ground is so wet & rushy it makes it tough work for the few we meet that are into it. A lot more chasing than catching. Funny thing is if I brought the poniter & a net I could catch at least 1 hare a day & these fools are running Mongerls & expecting catches daily/ nightly.

Jesus the coursing men around my way would go mental if that was happening, they put a lot of work and feed into the wild hare and I don't know a Shootin man that would shoot one, it's a kinda unwritten rule that you leave them be. Couple of lads appeared from the city at it a while back and ended in a hurling match without a ball!! If you know what I mean!! :-)
