Things you've done consistently all your life

All my life, I've gone through spells of obsessions, be that with a particular food, music, thing to say, thing to want to be etc. But there's only one thing I've consistently thought about all my life and that's the house I want to own when I can afford that.

When I was a kid, I drew for hours at a time and it was always the kind of house I wanted. I would draw the outside and then I would draw the indoor plans. While I don't draw those anymore, I think about them often. I imagine the decor and the layout etc. I love doing it. And I always have, it has never waned.

So I pose to you the question, have you got one thing (or more) that you've done/thought about since you were a child and are still doing?(cue smart arse responses such as breathing etc!) Something you've obsessed over?

I don't think I've done anything consistently like that in my life... every time I look back at myself even like 4-5 months back I'm nearly a completely different person.

I saw Kate Bush on Top of the Pops when I was 6 and I fell in love with her instantaneously.

Of course I didn't realise it was love at the time, I thought my willy was broken.

Stress over little stuff when everything turns out ok! There's a lesson to be learned there.

I've always wanted to tell stories in some capacity. Started off wanting to be a writer, wrote my first (and last) book at about 7 - about dinosaurs. Moved on to a play later in my primary school career, my own Father Ted episode. Had my classmates play it out with special permission to say 'feck' and 'arse' from our teacher.

Then went back to short stories and some poems (flowery rubbish!) and eventually got into journalism. Now I'm making video and radio, still obsessed with storytelling, still messing about with screenplays and stories, still writing the occasional article.

I thought I kept changing what I was interested in, but really, it all goes back to storytelling. I just like finding new ways to do it.

Oh and portable video game consoles. Ever since getting a gameboy when I was about 5 or 6 I've owned at least one.

Since I was a young kid I've always had touch an iron to see if it was hot, the pain of not finding out is worse than the pain from the hot iron.

I think thats really sweet, I hope you have your house someday .

Can't think of anything myself, used to have a few but time and age sometimes makes you cynical about your childhood dreams. Your thread is a nice reminder to hang on to them.

Bless my self when I go past a church or graveyard.

Read on the bog, books, shower labels e

Use the shower head as a microphone when I'm in the shower and singing

Rob the remote control when I enter a room full of siblings.

    Watch wrestling.

Chew plastic like pen tops or mcflurry spoons.

I've read at least a few pages of whatever book(s) I have on the go everyday since I've been about ten. There might be one or two exceptions when I've been very ill, but reading has been a constant as long as I remember.

I dress from bottom to top - never deviated from that my whole life. Feels so wrong doing it top to bottom.

I've never been able to carry my bag on my left shoulder, only my right. Feels too insecure on my left for some reason.
