Misfiring/cutting out

Drove to the cinema last night, came out 2 hours later and when started car, it chugged (best word I can think of!) with low revs for a few seconds and then cut out. Waited a couple of secs and tried again and it started as normal.

Went out this afternoon and it started fine. Turned off and retried and it chugged again and then cut out. Third time it chugged and then revs went up and was normal. Tried it a few more times and did various combinations of the three.

I'm thinking it's either bad plug, leads or coil.

    Anyone agree or other suggestions?

Could it be bad fuel? What make and model is it?

I would think this is some kinda of fuel problem rather than electrical, perhaps clogged/dirty fuel injectors or faulty fuel pump, or maybe even something like water in your fuel this would be less likely especially if you have a lot of petrol in the tank

Interesting. I had assumed it was spark plug, lead or coil related as it seemed like one of the pistons/ values wasn't firing and that was causing the low revs and then it to cut out.

Don't want to go to a gargage yet as it starts fine it it try it again after it cuts out or if i rev it the revs get up and it seems to be fine.
