I was going to post this in the Bus Eireann Wheelchair Access thread, but on mature reflection I believe it deserves a stage of it's own.

Conway 635 correctly raises the issue of the Transport Provider being only one part of a far greater number of contributors to the access issue.

So,how about speculating what DCC's New,Improved Traffic Management Plan for St Stephens Green will do.....

    http://www.dublincity.ie/RoadsandTraffic/MajorTransportProjects/Pages/ProposedTrafficManagementworksonStStephensGreenEastandStStephensGreenNorth,Dublin2tofacilitateLUASBroombridge.aspx

There's something for everyone in the document...

I'm really impressed at the amount of new space apparently discovered by DCC.

I'm equally,if not even more,Impressed at DCC's ability to perform all of the works outlined and then be able to provide 3 additional () On-Street Parking Spaces to compensate the addled motorist...

I'm also hopeful that the Office of Public Works will seek to have the extremely stylish and futuristic Swan-Neck Dublin-Bus poles on St Stephens Green North preserved for future generations to admire..:o :o:o

The actual works area seems mainly confined to Stephen's Green East. Are there any changes proposed to the area where the Dublin Bus stops are on Stephen's Green North?

The works area is not confined to the east, it's just this needs separate promission as it is not part of the area covered by Luas BXD's planning permission.

Has planning permission already been granted for the finer details of this, e.g. where bus stops will now be located etc? I didn't see such specifics when I looked through the BXD documents before. Apologies if I'm missing something obvious.

In the context of BXD and of the Stephens Green area in general,I don't believe any segretaion will exist.

Looking at this document, one is immediately struck with the use of road-space at the newly bi-directional Kildare Street junction, and also of the lack of detail as to what arrangements will exist at the current SSG North "Swan-Neck" stops.

Given that, initially,Buses will continue to use Dawson Street for an indeterminable time,I remain curious as to how DCC have managed to free-up so much apparently virgin roadspace, whilst also managing to allow for new central reservations/kerb build-outs....

Effectively 3 lanes outside the Shelbourne Hotel.....2 traffic and a Taxi drop-off ....immediately followed by a widened footpath (narrowed road) at Merrion Row entry....It all appears somewhat idealistic....and difficult to comprehend as operable unless some form of on-scene Traffic Law Enforcement is in place from Day 1. ?
