Problem Solving and Software Development Portfolio

So I'm about to do up this portfolio for the PSSD degree, but I have a few questions that I hope somebody can answer despite it being the course's first year.

Firstly, when I include "examples of programming activity", what exactly is that? Source code? The mere mention of a program I have created? Explaining things like loops and dictionaries to prove I have knowledge?

Secondly, what exactly would "relevant programming and computer courses or training you have taken" be? Must it be some sort of paid course, or CoderDojo and the likes? I've gone to the local CoderDojo for a look (the one in my school), but it was essentially first years dicking around in Photoshop. Would online resources like CodeAcademy or Youtube videos count?

    Thanks.

Portfolios are relatively short documents that we will use to select students to be interviewed. At an interview we will expect a candidate go into more detail about their experience and to explain code that they have written.

You should describe what the programs do, what programming languages you used, what operating systems you used, etc. However, you should not supply source code in the portfolio or give explanations of basic programming concepts. We will look at your source code during the interview process and we will ask detailed questions to "prove" that you can program.

Paid courses, CoderDojo, CodeAcademy and Youtube videos are all good examples. You can bring certificates to the interview, or you can simply explain how you have learned to program.
