Over 12 years ago my friend was in america on a j1 visa, he got drunk stole a car crashed it and was arrested ,got out on bail and skipped the country, as far as i can remember he was charged with GTA, DUI , leaving the scene where he crashed the car and driving with no license or insurance. He now is working and living in Canada and was wanting to know if he enter the US at another state than where he was charged with the offences would he be arrested. Thanks for any replys

Does the dumbass realise that to enter the US, he has to have a passport and it has to be checked.

He should ring the police in the area and ask

Hi my name is "Blah" are you looking for me?

Would the statute of limitations kick in - given that 12 years have passed?

Would that not apply to the amount of time elapsed without charges being brought, in this case he was charged and skipped bail

He'd be VERY silly to ever enter the states again.

He can be extradited from one state to another to face those charges, he'll then be held in jail till his trial date or till he pleads guilty. Then he'd most likely get a few years in prison, after which he'll be deported.

Ah yes Mr Blah, you won a free motorboat in the police raffle. Please call to the station to collect.
