Hi, I have a 2007 Toyota Yaris 1.0L Luna and the log book states it's an NG engine. I am looking to service it myself and cannot find the quantity of engine oil to add. I believe its a 5W30 fully synthetic oil. Have googled it but cannot find it online.

The owners manual that came with it refers to 3 different engines

    1KR-FE 3.1L
    1NR-FE 3.4L
    1ND-TV 4.1L

    Thanks in advance

You will have enough oil regardless if you are buying a 5L drum. Always buy the 5L for top ups between changes.

Just fill it to the midway mark on the dipstick.

Always start the car after changing the oil to leave oil go into the oil filter, run engine for a few minutes, and then top up again.

I never read the manual for quantity of oil needed. Go by the dipstick. That's what it's there for. :)

The 1ND is a diesel engine so that doesn't apply to you anyways. This will give you a general guidline of how much you need and what type:

Wait a few minutes after you add the oil and check the dipstick. If more is required add more. Then run the engine for about five minutes and check underneath to make sure you have no leaks. Shut of the engine and check the oil level again. Best of luck with the service. Use Castrol Edge or Castrol Magnatec oils. Castrol Edge being the best. I always use Fully Synthetic oils in my car at every service. Best of luck :)

    "NG" is a typo.

There's no toyota's engine with such a code.

    Yours appears to be 1KR-FE.

Just to make sure - open passenger's door and read identification plate. Find "MODEL" part of it.

    KSP90... indicates 1KR-FE engine fitted.

    NLP90... - 1ND-TV.

    SCP90... - 2SZ-FE.

    ZSP90... - 2ZR-FE.

If there's other code - it's not 2007, not European market, or not yaris. :D

Handiest place to get your oil and filter is your local Toyota dealer. Won't cost much more than an autofactors and you know you are getting the proper stuff.

Thanks for the replies, checked the inside of the passenger door and its as you said. KSP90R is on the plate. Job done. It was a job and a half to try and get the filter off. It was like it was welded in. Ended up taking off the front wheel to gain better access and that made it a bit easier.

Thanks again for all the help.
