Cant find the Anti-Theft Nut socket for wheel nuts!

    As the title.

My wife informed me we had a flat tyre yesterday when I was at work, anyway as she didnt need to go anywhere, I said I would replace in the morning.

Just back in from the car and the alloys on it have anti-theft wheel nuts, we bought this car from a dealer, and tbh I've never had to take off a wheel before (first flat) and have checked the car up and down, but the wheel brace attatchment is the one designed for the wheel nuts/studs that came with the car OE.

As the original owner obviously replaced rims at some stage, they must have neglected to store the adaptor in with the rest of the spare wheel tools.

Thankfully the car isnt needed to go anywhere today, and as I have my own vehichle, getting out and about will be no problem today either.

Any one any suggestions as to what to do next? Where would I acquire the correct wheel stud adaptor to remove wheels?

If I call out a specialist tyre place will they be able to sort wheel today?

Tbh, I'd much prefer to source adaptor myself and then keep it in a safe place in the car, I certainly wouldnt have felt comfortable driving the car all over the country had I of known I wouldnt have been able to change a tyre due to the lack of the adaptor.

    All suggestions welcome.

The cheapest and quickest solution by far is to get a socket from a socket wrench set that is only millimeters bigger than that of the anti theft bolt, place it over the anti theft bolt and hammer it on securely. Once its snugly fitted attach the wrench and then its just a matter of turning the wrench as if removing a normal bolt.
All it will cost you is a new socket from(2-5euro) and a new bolt for the wheel (free from a breakers if you ask nicely)

I was in the same situation and visited my local vw dealer an they called a car locksmith in who had every possible nut lock and replaced all 4 of mine with regular ones, cost 40 euro

    Sorted guys.

My car has a sunglasses compartment up near the rear view mirror.

The adaptor was stored inside it.

Sure where else would you put it ?

    Thanks for all the replies.

    Are the rims worth much?
If not I would replace all anti theft nuts with normal ones.
Not sure about getting them off.
Can u track down previous owner?
