    Hi,
My expansion tank is constantly dripping. I dont know if this has anything to do with only that it is something that changed: we got a water softner installed yesterday and this started last night.
Is this related? Is this serious?
    Thanks

They shouldn't be connected if plumbed correctly. It's probably just the ball valve needing adjustment or cleaning

thanks for the quick respose... ill try that. Ive been told that limescale can be pushed out to the tip of taps as a result of the softner. the same may apply to the ball valve ??

You probably have a similar leak somewhere. Unless the ballcock is very old. Tank not overflowing?

its the cold water tank in the attic. The ballcok wasnt closing fully and the water was dripping from the hole underneath the joint (if know what i mean) ie it wasnt gushing as if it was a good bit empty. I cleared some heavy limescale around it seems to have fixed it. Probably needs replacing very hard water here. thanks all
