Our 1150 gl hi-spec was bought new in '88 or '89 and still going strong. only ever one hole came in it so far.had to do the veins in the pump once and its on it's second nozzle and splash plate and its third filling point nozzle and both those parts are galvanized... Mind you the world of rust is flakin off the inside which i see when cleaning it out..

Have a 1300 gal Abbey aprox 20 yrs old. Workin away perfectly. No sign of any rust flaking off the inside. Had to replace a tyre last year but got a 2nd hand one @ €120. Bought 5 years ago circa €2500.

Had an ipsam galvanised. Was shovelling rust out of it for the last 7-8 years and it sucked in last October at circa 25-30 years old.

When replacing it we bought a painted tanker as it should last twenty years and I reckon in twenty years splashplate application will be a thing of the past so paying €2000 extra seemed a bit extravagant.
