This is a survey to see if Sky's current customers are satisfied with their broadband thus far. Basically, I would like for you to answer a few questions:

    1. Who was your last provider?
    2. What upload and download speed did you get with your last provider? (post Speedtest result if possible)
    3. What upload and download speed did you get with your last provider? (post Speedtest result if possible)
    4. What upload and download speed are you currently getting during the Dynamic Line Management (first 10 days)? (post Speedtest result if possible)
    5. What speed are you getting after the Dynamic Line Management (if you have passed the 10-day period)? (post Speedtest result)
    6. How much are money are you saving by switching to Sky?
    7. Are you satisfied with your new broadband service?
If you have anymore feedback, feel free to post more additional details.

P.S.: Dynamic Line Management is the 10-day period where Sky test your line to see what speed is best suited for your line.

P.P.S.: Please post the forum link Speedtest.net give you when your Speedtest has finished so we can see the graphic rather than just posting numbers on the forum. Example:

Very satisfied with Sky with there service and delivery of the hub.

Was getting 7.1 M download speed compared to 6.5M with VF.

Changed to Sky for the package and had many problems with VF on the change

over from BT which lasted many months.

Some time ago had a call from Sky to inform me that my speeds were not

what I should be achieving. Now my problems started. Ran a line test and

then the problems started. Initial promise up to 12 M.

So when I started on the 14th Dec 2012 when the speed was 7.1M. No,

tinkering with the router as was away over the holidays.

Came back Speed 7.1 /7.3 M Ok. The Line testing(Sky testing) and bang with
    the speed.

Connection speeds and stats are now all over the place. One may reboot the

Hub or even reboot it and figures change each time. Have had occasions

when connected and unable open a page.

No problems with the support from Sky and they have kept me informed.

    Just wish it was sorted.

I was promised 12 but get between 4 and 7.8 consistently.

I'm also suffering dropout in the evening which are frustrating.

Waiting on another call back tonight

This is a survey to see if Sky's current customers are satisfied with their broadband thus far. Basically, I would like for you to answer a few questions:

    1. Who was your last provider?

      Three Mobile
    2. What upload and download speed did you get with your last provider?

Mobile Broadband, so incredibly variable - Typically though I was getting around 1.5Mb with ~90Ms ping , it could often be much much worse
    3. What upload and download speed are you currently getting during the Dynamic Line Management (first 10 days)? (post Speedtest result if possible)
      2467860877.png
    4. What speed are you getting after the Dynamic Line Management (if you have passed the 10-day period)? (post Speedtest result)

Today is the 10th day since I went live , so I may or may not be "stable" at this point - I haven't seen much change since Day 1 though.
    5. How much are money are you saving by switching to Sky?

Saving ~€40 a month as I had separate billing for Phone and Internet
    6. Are you satisfied with your new broadband service?

      Very Happy thus far.
For me , coming from Mobile Broadband , the biggest difference has been the consistency - My 3G service was so utterly random At times I could get 7Mb for a short while but then it would drop down to 0.1Mb with 400ms Ping at another. The Sky Service has been very stable and the speed doesn't seem to vary hugely through the day .

The cost savings are significant as well , I could save close to €500 over the course of the 1 year contract.

The Customer Service aspect has been excellent as well. I rang them on a Monday evening , got my hub on the Wednesday and was up and running with everything by Friday morning
    .

Have you installed the dsl filters on every phone in the house? try plugging out all phones and using only the sky router after a reboot to see what speeds are like then. It is possible that something in your house may be causing interferance.

    tcaley.

Sky have been in touch with me. Have run all the various tests. All was ok up to recently. When, I had a call from Sky saying that I was not getting the speed I should be. They tested the line and what ever happened my speed to the above. One has reset and rebooted the hub and the resulted speed can go up and down like a fiddlers elbow.

On my side of the fence, all is the same as with VF. Sky speed as posted earlier was 7.1 when installed. No going at the router for the 10 Days as I was away from here all over the holidays.

Once Sky tested the line, bang.

Supposedly, Sky are to arrange for an Engineer to call.

    I will wait and see

    So will I.

Had similar problems with VF when they took over BT customer base. Speeds dropped and we had all the excuses from VF. CS was very poor indeed. Cannot say that about Sky. The have keep me in the loop so far.

I changed all my set up here for VF, routers, wiring. But no increase in speed. Several days when the line keep dropping. Had to grin and bare it.

Then suddenly speeds came up to 6.5mb/s and u/l .67Mb/s. this on a 8Mb/s line connection. Which is the best one may achieve

Now, with Sky promised up to 12Mb/s so if I could achieve the same % as VF would give me a speed of 9.72Mb/s which would be approx 2.5 times better then now.

P.S.: Dynamic Line Management is the 10-day period where Sky test your line to see what speed is best suited for your line.

    1. Who was your last provider? vodafone
    2. What upload and download speed did you get with your last provider? (post Speedtest result if possible) 7168/384 sync, 6M/0.3M speedtest.net
    3. What upload and download speed did you get with your last provider? (post Speedtest result if possible) same as Q2
    4. What upload and download speed are you currently getting during the Dynamic Line Management (first 10 days)? (post Speedtest result if possible) n/a - see below **
    5. What speed are you getting after the Dynamic Line Management (if you have passed the 10-day period)? (post Speedtest result) n/a - see below
    6. How much are money are you saving by switching to Sky? €27.50 p/m
    7. Are you satisfied with your new broadband service? so far

should one of Q2/Q3 be current provider ie Sky ??
if so, my sync / throughput speeds are the same as previous as I'm on a non-LLU line

** AFAIK, DLM will only apply to LLU lines
with non-LLU the line profile is set/fixed by eircom

Think you are right there - I assume that on Eircom owned kit Sky have to take what they are given rather than being able to update alter configurations as they can on the BT hardware in the LLU sites

Better to wait for the 10 days of speed fluctuating and testing period to end before commenting.

I'm well past the 10 days at this point and the speed and router settings haven't changed a bit since the 1st day it went active...

Based on conversations with Sky Support , they cannot update my profile - "It's not going to change , that's all that's available" is what I've been told..

See my other thread on the subject of my line speed.

    Up to date

Sky have contacted me and had an Engineer called He explained that when the extra speed was applied to the line more problems showed up. This he fixed.
My speed connection is now 10.2M and actual speed wirelessly 8.3M. This I am happy with.

Must praise Sky Customer Services for what they did. Have kept in touch with me most of the time.

The Rep responsible for my case file has followed up all along the way.

Sky CS has been excellent compared to others I have dealt with over the years. Some Of the ISP's have been very poor.

I am very pleased that I have made the move to Sky

Is Dynamic Line Management really done by Sky in Ireland?

Few lads in the know here say it's a UK thing and not done here.
