hi
i have an emachines 5260
recently i upgraded its bios
after that system is not working properly
not detecting correct drivers
has any one know from where i can get the old bios copy
or how can i degrade to old bios

or how i can i copy the bios from a similar machine using usb or cd

CPU Intel® Pentium® 4 515 Prescott (2.93 Ghz)
Memory 512 MB DDR RAM - (2x 256 - PC3200)
Motherboard Intel® D915GAGL-G1

Not being harsh..but was there no warning to back up your original Bios?

I dont understand why anyone would upgrade the bios on such an old pc,its risky ,ie something goes wrong machine wont load up.
My friend has an emachines pc,p4 1gig ram ,i,m not sure what what model is it.

What hardware can Windows not find drivers for ? BIOS updates can change parameters of hardware devices making old drivers obsolete. Updated drivers may be needed.

hi

when i up graded to that bios the problem started
i have emachines 5260
when i upgraded the memory after that the system hang more than two minutes showing the e machine logo

after removing the memory it was same, i cleared the bios then also same, then i tried bios update the solved but
it is not working with old drivers ever tried windows 7, tried many driver identifying programmes but same

You could install linux mint 9, on it ,fits on 1 cdr, boot from cd ,see does it work ok.

download iso,burn to cdr,use imgburn to burn image ,iso file.
IF it works ok, you can click icon,install mint, it needs about 5gig of free space to install.
Mint should identify all devices,chipsets , on any pc made before 2010.
IT has webrowser,music player built in.
get the 32bit version,in above link.
it can be run as livecd, runs from cdr.HD install mode is faster load, enables you to install programs,from menu,software manager.
Livecd mode is more noisey,just runs from cdrom.
