    Hello All,
I always wanted to do currach racing. Being from the west side of galway i never did even though it happens not too far from where i live.

I emailed these guys to get information on how to start but the email address bounced back.

    http://www.currach.org/english/contact.php

Does anyone know how i could start? Any pointers or training that happens? when the events happen and where?

theres two types of currach racing, rowing & outboard! i guess your on about rowing, im from conemara an the races happen start of summer to the end , been awhile since ive been to them but theres a man and woman race and 3man race and a single man race at some of them. im pretty sure you'll need your own currach roars etc. as for entering most of the races is just show up

Where in Galway are you living? There are a number of clubs in Conamara.

There is a place you can build them
    http://www.galwayschoolofboatbuilding.com/index.php
    http://anspideal.pbworks.com/w/page/13261663/The-Galway-School-of-Boat-Building

Will have to talk to them to find out how to join a race or join a club.
