Huge loss to the GAA losing both Heffernan and O'Se in such a short space of time

    Heffo is an absolute legend

It was Heffo's Army and their epic rivalry with Kerry that gave me a love of the game as a child in the 70s.

    RIP.

Wasn't around during his time as a manager, but even still everyone has heard about Heffo's army.
RIP. What a life he lived though.

Heffo and Mick O'Dwyer and their two teams breathed a special life into the GAA in that era, and it has continued to this day. Rest in Peace Kevin Heffernan. Thanks for the memories and what you helped to do for the GAA.

Kevin Heffernan will be sadly missed and always fondly remembered by all who love the GAA, especially in Dublin.

More than any other man, he is responsible for the strength of the GAA today in Dublin. The phenomenal support the Dublin footballers now enjoy probably wouldn't be there without his monumental efforts both as a player and a manager. He lifted them out of the doldrums twice in the 50s and the 70s. The team of today are standing on the shoulders of a giant. An all-time legend and hero.

    Thank you so much, Heffo.

Very well put. Few of us in the capital would have fallen in love with the GAA if it wasn't for the efforts of Kevin Heffernan. RIP

A great manager and (I believe) a great player too. The Dubs of the 70s under Heffo's stewardship got me involved in GAA as a boy. I'm still attending games regularly. I suspect there's many Dubs just like me. RIP Heffo.

    RIP.

I was not around when he was player or manager but my Dad only ever said great things about him and again last night when chatting to him told me some good stories about his career.
