    I'm pretty sure it's because you draw them on... same way jumpers are known as pullovers.

    I'd have thought it's because you draw (as in pull) them up?

    Or because one would draw them down to get busy!

    I thought it was because you 'draw' them up and down, in the drawbridge (or curtains) sense of the word...
