Would getting a diesel be worthwhile ?
I was thinking of a 2008 520d or 530d, when it comes time to change (maybe next year)
I do 40miles per day, mostly motorway, and then other journey throughout the year bring me up to 18 or 20k miles ?

It's probably worth it, if you're doing in excess of 15k miles.

There's no definite yes or no answer.

Best thing to do is work out all the costs associated with each car and see how the figures stack up. I recently workout out a smaller petrol car would mean I can break even compared to a diesel at a certain annual mileage.

i'm not in the habit of buying new cars, the thought of massive depreciation would drive me to despair.
When i get something, i get it cheap, maintain it well ,and drive it for years.
