How do I find out if there is 2 hard drive bays or just one on my HP Paviliion dv7? want to add an SSD as a boot disk so that it will be quicker to load, going to add an additional 4gb of RAM as well.

Also is windows 8 worth downloading before the offer expires or should I just stick on windows 7?

Turn it upside down and remove the cover http://www.insidemylaptop.com/complete-disassembly-instructions-hp-pavilion-dv7-laptop-guide-2/ take a look inside. As for ram run the crucial scanner,http://www.crucial.com/eu/

According to the specs on their site it seems there is only one hard drive bay but as previous poster said you will see hard drive cover door underneath and it usually has a symbol like a barrel on it, personally I would stick with Windows 7.
