I would be grateful for any advice

My mother is looking to change her car. Currently driving a 01 Hyundai Accent. Local Hyundai dealer has made her aware of an 07 Hyundai Accent, Automatic that he has, low mileage and one previous owner. She is very happy with Hyundai and would have no problem going for one again.

I have no knowledge of automatics and just wanted to enquire if there are any major differences between automatics and manuals regaridng running costs, maintenance costs etc or anything in particular i should look out for when viewing the car?

    Thanks in advance

The accent in question would be a newer model than what she has now, but in relative terms still an old fashioned car. I wouldn't have any problem recommending one to somebody as long as they knew that in terms of refinement, safety, snob value etc, it would be a long way off something like a focus, golf etc.

But if coming from an old model accent, this will be a major step up.

Also check out the Kia rio, the accents sister car.

Fuel economy wise, it won't be drastically different to her current car, but definitely a bit heavier on fuel alright.

Gonna be way more expensive to be fair. I30s are really holding their value. Went looking for one last week for a relative and they're not a bargain.
